About The Artist - Barbara D. Lucke

Traditional artists are pictured holding palettes and camel hair brushes. sitting or standing at an easel. This artist breaks from tradition. Surrounded by rollers, foam brushes of all sizes, spatulas, sanding paper and various other unconventional painting tools along with large jars of Golden acrylics, Barbara can be found bending over a low, flat 4' by 8' table putting layer upon layer of color and texture.

These paintings will not remind you of your last visit to the "Eastern Shore", but will cause the viewer to question, wonder, smile and enjoy.

Most recently Barbara has concentrated on the square shape to include a series of multi layered gallery wrapped paintings with many subtleties to be viewed close up; interesting mixed media on board "minis"; and provocative "think boxes".

Barbara's winter months are spent in her Winter Haven, Florida home/studio. No, her works do not depict palm trees or alligators. Same mind set, different location.
